"Transflex" Antenna

This antenna is designed specifically for gliders, other composite aircraft and is also ideal for wood and/or fabric covered aircraft. It comes complete with ground plane for mounting inside the composite structure with the antenna outside. The antenna itself is flexible and designed to tolerate a wheels up landing or similar incident. Available with copper ground plane or wire mesh (the mesh is the easiest to bend to required shape and is a stock item.)

These cables are manufactured from high quality co-ax cable but are not as “low loss” as Aircell and are suitable for lengths up to about 2 metres although we do offer a 3 metre version with the caveat that losses may be detectable.
