Metal Hydride batteries for gliders and light aircraft without charging systems now available.

Metal hydride batteries do not suffer from the drawbacks of conventional sealed batteries of intolerance of being fully discharged and the inability to deliver a high current. They deliver more voltage, more capacity, are lighter and come in various packages the same size as the more common 12v 7Ah batteries in general use.

LX avionics is introducing a range of these batteries, the first of which is shown below.

Metal Hydride Battery Units

EB 14/9 (14VDC 9AH). Supplied in lightweight aluminium box with base plate for permanent fixture to the aircraft, test meter, connector, and quick release system for attachment to the base plate.
