Colour navigation and vario system

The LX8000 is a high performance vario navigation system with an extremely bright colour display. A simple and logical user interface is designed for top-level competitors, club operation as well as for gliding beginners. The instrument is preloaded with worldwide terrain maps, airspace and airport databases, and has near unlimited turning point storage capacity. User friendly data exchange is by use of SD Card or USB interface. LX8000 has an integrated FLARM collision avoidance system (option) and flight recorder to IGC specification for all flights. LX8000 copes with complex assigned area tasks. During flight,it shows the optimium solution according to FAI and OLC rules.

LX mobile is a free online downloadable PDA program specifically designed for LX 8000/7007 users. It features all the important functions of the established PDA navigation programs, such as terrain relief and airspace warnings, but requires minimum interaction via the PDA, thus reducing the pilot's distraction from the vital function of keeping eyes outside the cockpit. LX 8000/7007 + LX Mobile making a contribution to flight safety.

LX Mobile for PDA operation

Externally the same as the LX7007 Pro. IGC. SD card, no GPS, without IGC approved flight recorder. Has AAT and airspace warning functions. (A non-IGC approved logger is retained). A NMEA interface for a Colibri or similar is provided, and connection to either one provides the GPS source to give the variometer a similar capability to the more advanced Pro IGC model at a substantial saving.

Options of: Remote Stick control, 2-seater configuration, Voice Module, Compass

There is no option of having a built-in GPS with this model.

Vario navigation system using an external GPS source.

LX 7007 Compact is a cost effective and panel space saving modern vario navigation system for single seaters

Features

The LX 7007 Compact is a stand-alone system (ie you cannot add things like electronic compass etc) but there is one option available; an integral non-IGC logger.

This glide-nav system is a plug and play replacement for the older Cambridge L-Nav and is based on the LX 5000, but connects via your existing wiring as a direct replacement, but with a huge increase in capability.

Four separate controls on the vario unit to permit its operation independently of the PDA should it fail.
A full function 57mm audio variometer designed for operation both as a stand alone unit or through a PDA (iPAQ) using FlywithCE "Navigator", SeeUMobile or WinPilot beta version software, and for interface to the LX 20 or Colibri units as the GPS source. Plug and Play, all cables supplied.
The ideal solution for limited panel space and, with FlywithCE Navigator, SeeU Mobile or WinPilot beta version software operating with an iPAQ, the variometer system provides full multi-leg navigation capabilities and is controlled by the PDA, with a fall-back of using the four controls on the LX 1600. Full competition capability at a low price. When used with non-beta version of WinPilot the LX 1600 will feed data to the PDA but the LX 1600 will not be operable by the PDA and instead the four controls on the LX 1600 will have to be used.
LX 1600 is supplied with external speaker and cable set.

Electronic Variometer with final glide calculator, NMEA and Flarm input, plug and play connectable to a PDA

LX 166 is a modern vario / speed command system and a logical follow-on of the well known LX 160, and now with some navigation features.

Overview

The system consists of two 57 mm units of the conventional size. The vario unit itself has no controls and mainly serves as a vario indicator with audio. All controls and a graphic display are available on the control unit. Six push buttons and one rotary switch ensures effective and user friendly operation.

The unit is capable of receiving NMEA and also Flarm data at several baud rates thanks to its auto detection function. A stand alone PDA port serves as data and power source for a PDA, a Bluetooth option is also available. LX 166 is plug-and-play connectable to Colibri, LX 20, VL and any Flarm unit. All mentioned units when connected are powered from LX 166. PDA output is capable of driving SeeYou Mobile, Winpilot and some other programs.

A very special function implemented in the LX 166 is continuous presentation of final glide to home airport, as the unit memorizes take off position. Otherwise the final glide is based on data received from GPS. Additional pilot information includes distance flown display subject to pilot selection.

Operation with a GPS offers a wind calculation of wind direction and wind speed.
